Electricians install electrical systems in structures; they install wiring and other electrical components, such as circuit breaker panels, switches, and light fixtures, and they follow blueprints, the National Electrical Code® and state and local codes.
To prepare trainees a career in the electrical field, NCCER offers a comprehensive, 4-level Electrical curriculum that complies with DOL time-based standards for apprenticeship.
The tenth edition of Electrical has also been fully updated to the 2020 NEC® and includes revisions to the module examinations.

Pre/Post-tests are created for secondary career and technical education. These tests are formerly known as the National Construction Career Tests (NCCT). Pre/Post-tests align with industry skill standards based upon NCCER's curriculum.

NCCER's assessments evaluate the knowledge of an individual in a specific craft area and provide a prescription for upgrade training when needed. All assessments are based upon the NCCER Curriculum and have been developed in conjunction with subject matter experts from the industry.
Exciting Update for Texas The state of Texas now accepts a successfully completed NCCER Industrial Electrician Written Assessment in place of taking the TDLR exam and provides a Journeyman Industrial Electrician License.
